Oxide permissions: grant, revoke and groups explained

Updated November 8, 2026

Oxide plugins don't decide who can use them. You do, with permissions. Each plugin registers permissions like ultimatecases.vip, and you grant them to players or groups from the server console (or in game, as an admin, using the same commands in F1).

Users and groups

Oxide creates two groups out of the box:

  • default: every player is in it automatically
  • admin: players with server admin (auth level 2) are added to it

Granting to a group is almost always better than granting to individual players: add someone to the group and they get everything that group has.

Grant a permission

oxide.grant group default kits.use
oxide.grant user 76561198000000000 ultimatecases.vip

You can use a player's Steam ID or name for user. To grant every permission a plugin registers, use a wildcard:

oxide.grant group admin pluginname.*

Revoke a permission

oxide.revoke group default kits.use
oxide.revoke user 76561198000000000 ultimatecases.vip

Create your own groups

A VIP or moderator group keeps perks and tools in one place:

oxide.group add vip
oxide.grant group vip ultimatecases.vip
oxide.usergroup add 76561198000000000 vip

Remove a player from a group with oxide.usergroup remove <player> <group>.

Check who has what

CommandShows
oxide.show permsEvery registered permission
oxide.show user <player>A player's groups and permissions
oxide.show group <group>A group's permissions and members
oxide.show groupsAll groups

Where to find a plugin's permissions

Every plugin in this store lists its permissions, and what each one allows, in the Permissions tab on its page.
